Rahmah Cash Donation Phase 1 to Be Disbursed in Stages Starting Tomorrow

PUTRAJAYA — The Ministry of Finance (MOF) announced that the Rahmah Cash Donation (STR) Phase 1 payments will begin tomorrow, with funds disbursed in stages. Recipients will receive their payments either via bank transfer or in cash through Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN), depending on their STR qualification category.

For 2025, the government has allocated RM2.3 billion for STR, up from RM2.1 billion last year. The program will benefit nearly nine million recipients, or 60% of Malaysia’s adult population.

MOF also highlighted increases in the aid amounts: the maximum rate for households will rise to RM4,600 (up 25% from RM3,700), while the minimum rate for singles will increase to RM600 (up 20% from RM500).

Prime Minister and Finance Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim stated that the higher allocation, exceeding national inflation rates, underscores the government’s commitment to improving the welfare of citizens despite rising living costs. He also emphasized that STR and the Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (SARA) program aim to provide better living conditions for Malaysians.

Applications for STR remain open year-round, and those not yet in the database should apply via the official portal at STR Portal. MOF also warned the public to be cautious of fraudulent links.
