MUNICH — Bayern Munich’s coach Vincent Kompany remains optimistic Harry Kane will be fit to face Celtic today, despite the striker missing training following a knock in Saturday’s 0-0 Bundesliga draw with Bayer Leverkusen.

Kompany, unsure if Kane would play, said a decision would be made this morning in Munich, but assured it wasn’t a serious injury and that recovery time was tight. Kane had received treatment after a head collision with Piero Hincapie in the Leverkusen match.

Celtic coach Brendan Rodgers expressed confidence Kane's absence wouldn’t change much for Bayern, though he acknowledged it would be a big loss. Kane scored in the first leg against Celtic last week, helping Bayern secure a 2-1 win.

Despite a short recovery time, Bayern’s Jamal Musiala insisted the team had "no excuses" and would give their best against Celtic, with Kompany emphasizing their advantage at home. Rodgers, while acknowledging the challenge against the European elite, urged his players to play fearlessly and embrace the challenge.
