Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim will visit Russia from tomorrow to May 16, following an invitation from President Vladimir Putin. 1 His itinerary includes Moscow engagements from May 13-15, followed by a visit to Kazan, Tatarstan, on May 15-16, where he will deliver a keynote address at the KazanForum's plenary session. 2 In Moscow, he will speak at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations University, meet with Russian business leaders and the Malaysian diaspora. 3 This is Anwar's second trip to Russia since becoming Prime Minister, with the first being in September 2023 for the Eastern Economic Forum. 2 Russia is Malaysia's eighth-largest European trading partner, with bilateral trade increasing by 15.6% to US$3.1 billion in 2023.
