PUTRAJAYA — Between January and April 15, the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) took down 10,493 fake news items and 30,427 scam-related posts online. Deputy Communications Minister Teo Nie Ching stressed the importance of digital literacy, urging Malaysians not to blindly trust online information.

She emphasized that reading nurtures critical thinking and helps prevent people from falling for misinformation, especially in today’s fast-paced digital environment.
