BANGKOK — With violence escalating in southern Thailand’s conflict zones, the Federation of Teachers Association of Thailand (FTT) has called for immediate action to safeguard educators and students in Pattani, Yala, Narathiwat, and parts of Songkhla. Teachers and students face growing threats, especially as schools prepare to reopen. The FTT is urging the government to implement security measures, including deploying personnel, installing surveillance, and offering hazard pay. The unrest, fueled by a decades-long separatist insurgency, continues to cause widespread fear and disruption.
