DAMASCUS — Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa is seeking a meeting with US President Donald Trump during his Middle East trip, offering bold incentives including a Trump Tower in Damascus, energy deals, and peace with Israel in exchange for sanctions relief.

Pro-Trump activist Jonathan Bass, who met Sharaa in Damascus, said the Syrian leader wants to reshape ties with the US and cool tensions with Israel, despite being a US-designated terrorist. Sharaa’s pitch banks on Trump’s track record of unconventional diplomacy, hoping for a breakthrough similar to Trump’s past talks with North Korea.
