SEOUL — Son Heung-min’s father and brother have been suspended from coaching in South Korea following convictions in a child abuse case at their football academy. Son Woong-jung, the father and academy director, received a three-month suspension, while his son Son Heung-yun got six months. The punishments follow findings of repeated verbal and physical abuse of a youth player. Despite public apologies, all three men have appealed the sanctions. Son Heung-min has not publicly criticized his father’s strict methods and respects his role in his development.
