Selangor recorded over RM322 million in commercial crime losses from January to April this year, with police investigating 3,711 cases, said state police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan.

Online scams made up 2,180 of the cases, causing RM58 million in losses, while the remaining RM264 million came from 1,531 non-cyber crimes.

Police arrested 1,971 individuals, including 1,550 mule account holders, and busted 11 impersonation syndicates. The police remain focused on combating complex modern crimes and are urging public vigilance through awareness campaigns and tools like the ‘Semak Mule’ portal for verifying transactions.
