The Federal Territories Islamic Religious Council (MAIWP) has been tasked with locating a female Muslim convert who went viral after saying she wants to leave Islam, citing abuse and neglect by her husband.
Minister Datuk Dr Mohd Na’im Mokhtar urged MAIWP to provide immediate help and meet her to clarify the situation. He encouraged anyone with information to come forward.
If her abuse claims are true, she has the right to dissolve her marriage under Syariah law. Mohd Na’im called for compassion towards converts and assured that Islamic agencies will continue supporting and protecting those in need.
