The Asean Summit returns to KL from May 23 to 28, bringing extensive road closures and traffic disruptions as leaders gather for regional talks.
Highways and city routes, especially those connecting KLIA, Putrajaya, and the city centre, will face rolling closures daily from May 23–26, starting at 7am. Key affected routes include the Elite, Mex, NKVE, Guthrie, and North–South Expressways, along with major city roads like Jalan Tun Razak, Jalan Ampang, and Jalan Sultan Ismail.
On May 26 and 27, expect additional closures at major intersections near Jalan P. Ramlee, Jalan Pinang, and Persiaran KLCC during key summit sessions. May 28 will see another round of closures as delegations depart.
Drivers are advised to plan ahead and avoid these routes during peak hours.
