Police have confirmed that Teoh Beng Hock’s family was informed of the decision to classify his death case as "No Further Action" (NFA) on Tuesday.
Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain said the notice was sent to the family's lawyer, Ramkarpal Singh, by letter and email on May 20. The notification came from ACP NorAzizulkifli Mansor of the Selangor CID.
The Attorney-General’s Chambers (AGC) had reviewed the case and found insufficient evidence to pursue charges, officially marking the case as NFA on May 19.
The police referred the case to the AGC on April 17 following a High Court order from November 2023. Teoh, a political aide, died in 2009 after being questioned by the MACC. Earlier this year, the government agreed to reopen the investigation, but it has now been officially closed.
