Datuk Seri Najib Razak has filed for contempt proceedings against former Attorney General Tan Sri Ahmad Terrirudin Mohd Salleh, accusing him of concealing a royal order that allegedly granted Najib house arrest.
Filed on May 21, 2025, Najib's legal team claims the Addendum Order, issued on January 29, 2024, and confirmed by the Pahang Royal Council, instructed the former AG to act on a royal decree allowing Najib to serve the rest of his sentence under house arrest.
Najib alleges Ahmad Terrirudin misled the court by dismissing the order as hearsay, thus withholding key information and breaching his duty as a public officer. His lawyers say this undermines judicial integrity and amounts to obstruction of justice.
Currently a Federal Court judge, Ahmad Terrirudin has been called to respond to the allegations. Najib’s team urges the public to avoid speculation as the courts address the issue.
Earlier this year, the Pahang ruler confirmed Najib’s sentence was halved, but Najib maintains a royal addendum also granted house arrest.
