Two policemen have been remanded for six days to assist an investigation into allegations of soliciting and accepting a RM20,000 bribe from a man to avoid action over a supposed drug-related offence.The suspects, a 37-year-old corporal and a 26-year-old lance corporal were remanded until June 9 following an application by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) at the Ayer Keroh Magistrate's Court today.Magistrate Uthman Abd Ghani granted the remand order.According to a source, both suspects were detained between 6.25pm and 6.30pm yesterday when they turned up to provide their statements at the MACC Melaka office.The source said the suspects had allegedly demanded and accepted the bribe from the complainant, who was falsely accused of selling liquid drugs disguised as mushroom vape, a type of electronic cigarette, which he denied.Melaka MACC director Adi Supian Shafie confirmed the arrests when contacted.
