Man suspected of murdering wife remanded in Johor

A 33-year-old unemployed man has been remanded for seven days for allegedly murdering his wife with a vegetable knife and setting several cars on fire in Bukit Gambir, Johor. The incident occurred on Monday evening, when the suspect allegedly killed his 34-year-old wife, a clerk, at their home before fleeing to his in-laws’ residence in Kampung Durian Chondong and committing arson. He later walked into the Bukit Gambir police station the next morning and confessed. Police found the woman's body with neck injuries under a blanket and a blood-stained knife at the scene. The suspect, who tested negative for drugs, is being investigated under Sections 302 and 435 of the Penal Code for murder and mischief by fire.
