Over 200 illegal immigrants, mainly from Southeast Asia and including many women, were detained in a Johor Immigration Department raid at two entertainment centres in Stulang Laut. The operation, named Op Kutip, took place overnight after three weeks of surveillance and public tips. A total of 236 migrants aged 17 to 40 were caught, including Thai, Vietnamese, Bangladeshi, Indian, Pakistani, Nepalese, Chinese, Laotian, and Indonesian nationals. They were arrested for lacking valid permits or overstaying and taken to the Setia Tropika Immigration Detention Depot for further action.
