Zimbabwe will cull 50 elephants at Save Valley Conservancy to control overpopulation and distribute the meat to local communities, wildlife authorities said. The reserve holds 2,550 elephants—over triple its capacity. Ivory will be kept by the state. The move, following a 200-elephant cull in 2024, has sparked criticism due to the animals’ tourism value.
