Amnesty International has called on countries worldwide to reject the so-called "aid plan" used by Israel as a weapon in the Gaza Strip, urging concrete international action to end the ongoing genocide against the Palestinian people.
The organisation in a statement released Tuesday condemned the international community for allowing the catastrophe and genocide in Gaza to persist for far too long, emphasising that the deliberate starvation of civilians constitutes a war crime that must be halted immediately, Palestine News and Info Agency (WAFA) reported.
Amnesty International also stressed that Israel, as the occupier, is legally obligated under international law to ensure the provision of essential supplies to the population.
The organisation described recent gunfire against starving Palestinians near an aid distribution site in Rafah as a horrific incident demanding an immediate and independent investigation.
