SINGAPORE — A 22-year-old man was sentenced to six months in jail for attacking his parents after they refused his demand for S$5,000. Despite a court order prohibiting violence, he punched his father and mother during the April 14 incident and threatened to kill them if they didn’t comply. His frightened parents fled and called police. He was arrested a week later. The man, previously in reformative training for similar offenses in 2021, expressed remorse in court and hopes to enter a halfway house after serving his sentence.
