NEW DELHI — An Air India flight to London crashed shortly after takeoff from Ahmedabad with 242 people on board, killing many, according to police and India’s health minister.

-Aug 2020: 21 dead after Air India Express flight skidded off a rainy runway in Kozhikode and plunged into a valley.

-May 2010: 158 killed when an Air India flight from Dubai overshot the runway in Mangaluru and crashed into a gorge.

-July 2000: Over 50 died when an Alliance Air flight crashed in a Patna neighborhood.

-Apr 1993: 55 killed in an Indian Airlines crash during takeoff in Aurangabad.
