KUALA LUMPUR — Malaysia has been named the top Muslim-friendly travel destination for the 10th year in a row, according to the Global Muslim Travel Index (GMTI) 2025.
The award was presented at the 4th Halal in Travel Awards in Singapore, where Deputy Tourism Minister Khairul Firdaus Akbar Khan accepted the honour on behalf of Malaysia. He praised the collective efforts of industry players, government bodies, and local communities in making Malaysia a welcoming hub for Muslim travelers.
The recognition highlights Malaysia’s consistent leadership in providing inclusive, accessible, and high-quality services for Muslim tourists, driven by initiatives from the Islamic Tourism Centre, such as the MFAR and MFTG programs.
