Following the successful release of the Keluang Man live-action film on May 29, Astro Shaw has announced exciting new expansions for Malaysia’s original superhero franchise. Lead actor Nas-T received widespread praise for his portrayal of Borhan/Keluang Man, sparking public curiosity about what’s next for the Astro Shaw Cinematic Universe (ASCU).
Astro Shaw head Raja Jastina Raja Arshad revealed that the franchise will continue with Baling, a darker film inspired by Malaysian folklore. Meanwhile, a new Keluang Man live-action series is in development — not a sequel, but a fresh storyline featuring Borhan, set to launch before the film sequel.
Director Anwari Ashraf will return for the series, with a tentative release planned for late 2026 or early 2027. As for the ASCU, it's still full steam ahead, with a crossover film uniting all Astro Shaw characters scheduled for 2028.
