Sunjay Kapur, Indian billionaire and ex-husband of actress Karisma Kapoor, died at 53 after collapsing during a polo match in Windsor, UK. While initially believed to be a heart attack, reports now confirm it was triggered by an allergic reaction after a bee sting to the mouth, leading to anaphylactic shock and cardiac arrest.
Kapur, chairman of Sona Comstar and founder of the Aureus Polo team, was playing for the Sujan Indian Tigers during the Cartier Trophy Semi-Finals when he suddenly became unwell. Witnesses heard him say, “I’ve swallowed something,” before he collapsed on the field.
