The Malaysian government is closely observing the escalating conflict between Iran and Israel but has not decided to evacuate Malaysians from the region, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim confirmed today.
Speaking after officiating the SASANA Symposium at Bank Negara, Anwar said no evacuation move has been made yet. The event was also attended by top government and financial officials.The situation follows Israel's recent military strikes on Iran, reportedly killing senior officials and scientists. Iran retaliated with ballistic missile attacks on Israeli targets, causing casualties.The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that no Malaysians in Iran have been affected by the conflict so far.
