Renowned lyricist Vairamuthu has addressed fresh allegations claiming he refuses to revise his lyrics upon request. Clarifying the issue, he stated that such criticism is baseless.
“I’m accused of rejecting lyric changes, but that’s untrue. I’m always open to changes if they are meaningful and justified — I have revised lyrics in the past,” he said, citing songs from Punnagai Mannan and Manithan as examples.
He emphasized that lyrical changes should be based on poetic clarity, not arbitrary requests, and added that while he’s blamed, decisions are not his alone.
