In a heartwarming incident from Maharashtra, a 93-year-old man, Nivrutti Shinde from Ambora Jahagir village, touched hearts when he wanted to gift a gold chain to his wife, Shantabai, out of pure love.

During a pilgrimage to Pandharpur for Ekadashi, he took his wife to a jewelry shop to buy her a gold thali (chain). Dressed modestly in a white kurta and cap, shop staff initially mistook him for a beggar. But when they realized he wanted to buy a gold chain with just ₹1,120 in hand, they were stunned.

Though unaware of current gold prices, his sincere wish moved the shop owner deeply. “His love for his wife overwhelmed me,” the owner said, adding that he accepted only ₹20 as a token and gifted the chain for free.

The elderly couple, who care for themselves despite having a son, became viral sensations after the store’s CCTV footage of the touching moment was shared online.
