Flights to and from Bali have resumed after major disruptions caused by Mount Lewotobi Laki-laki’s eruption, which sent ash 11 km into the sky on Tuesday. A total of 87 flights—66 international and 21 domestic—were affected, including routes to Australia, Singapore, Vietnam, and Malaysia.

Operations returned to normal today, with flights from Bali departing on schedule to multiple countries. Airlines including Malaysia Airlines, JetStar, Virgin Australia, and Singapore Airlines confirmed resumed services. AirAsia flights to and from Bali, Lombok, and Labuan Bajo also restarted.

Two airports in East Nusa Tenggara have reopened, though Maumere’s airport remains closed due to lingering ash. Local authorities evacuated residents from nearby villages as a safety precaution.

This marks Lewotobi’s most significant eruption since November, with 427 eruptions recorded so far this year. Indonesia, located on the Pacific Ring of Fire, frequently experiences volcanic activity.
