IPOH — Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP) has climbed 18 places to rank 251st globally in the QS World University Rankings 2026, marking its highest position among 8,467 institutions evaluated.
In a statement, UTP highlighted improvements across all key indicators, including academic and employer reputation, research impact, and sustainability.
UTP credited its success to strong industry ties—especially with Petronas—and a focus on research, innovation, and talent development.
President Ir Mohamed Firouz Asnan said the achievement solidifies UTP’s status as Malaysia’s top private university and reflects its vision to lead in technology education and global collaboration.
