Kuching Driver Remanded After Flashing Airsoft Gun

KUCHING — A 22-year-old man who flashed an airsoft gun at a traffic light has been remanded for three days until June 23.

Kuching police chief ACP Alexson Naga Chabu said the suspect, who has two prior criminal records, tested positive for drug use and admitted to the act. The weapon was confirmed to be a replica airsoft gun.

The case is being investigated under Section 36(1) of the Arms Act 1960 and Section 506 of the Penal Code.

Videos of the incident went viral on social media. Sarawak police commissioner Datuk Mancha Ata earlier confirmed the arrest.
