LONDON — Chinese postgraduate student Zou Zhenhao, 28, has been sentenced to life in prison in the UK for drugging and raping 10 women between 2019 and 2023, with police believing he may have targeted over 50 victims.

Described as “predatory and calculated,” Zou lured mostly young Chinese women to his London flat under false pretenses, drugged them, and recorded the assaults. Only three of his 10 confirmed victims have been identified.

A London court found him guilty of 28 charges, including 11 rapes, voyeurism, false imprisonment, and possession of a chemical used to incapacitate victims. He will serve a minimum of 22 years.

Victims shared harrowing testimonies of lasting trauma, while prosecutors highlighted Zou’s careful planning and disregard for human dignity. UK police continue to appeal for more victims to come forward as the investigation remains open.
