Hong Kong’s League of Social Democrats, one of the city’s last opposition parties, announced it will disband after nearly 20 years. Known for its grassroots activism and pro-democracy stance, the party has struggled under Beijing’s crackdown and the 2020 national security law. Its leader, Leung Kwok-hung, is jailed, and members face ongoing pressure, including recent fines for public actions. Full disbandment details will be revealed Sunday.
