KUALA LUMPUR — Gas supply in Putra Heights is set to resume today after safety checks cleared a temporary 210m pipeline installed to replace a section damaged by an April 1 gas leak and fire.
The Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) confirmed that the pipeline passed all inspections, including non-destructive and 24-hour pressure tests. A support structure was also built to stabilise the site.
Phase two of the restoration involves installing three permanent 200m pipelines with reinforced concrete slabs, expected to be operational by Q3 2026. All works follow strict international safety standards, including ASME B31.8, and are closely monitored to protect both workers and residents.
Petronas has been directed to provide real-time monitoring of pipeline valves for emergency shut-off access.
