BOBIGNY — A French court handed suspended prison sentences to three former Ubisoft executives for fostering a toxic workplace culture of sexual and psychological harassment.
Former vice president Thomas Francois received a three-year suspended term and a €30,000 fine for harassment and attempted sexual assault, including forcing an employee to do a headstand in a skirt and making unwanted advances.
Ex-chief creative officer Serge Hascoet was sentenced to 18 months suspended and fined €45,000 for harassment and misusing female staff for personal errands, while former games director Guillaume Patrux got 12 months suspended and a €10,000 fine for intense bullying.
The verdict follows Ubisoft’s 2020 internal probe after widespread allegations of a toxic work culture. Lawyers hailed the ruling as a warning to employers that toxic management won’t go unpunished.
