SEREMBAN — The Health Ministry (MOH) will review and tighten the appointment process for Hospital Visitors’ Board Members (ALPH) nationwide following public concern over a screening error in Rembau, said Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad.
He said eligibility criteria and candidates’ societal contributions will be better aligned with national health policies to ensure credible, principled representatives.
Dr Dzulkefly confirmed the individual at the centre of the Rembau controversy is no longer serving and admitted the lapse hurt public confidence. Of the 2,860 nominations for 143 hospitals, all went through state-level evaluations and recommendations before reaching him, he added.
