Philippine police have arrested a South Korean YouTuber accused of fathering a child with a 14-year-old girl, in a case pursued under the Anti-Rape Law and the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act.
Authorities allege the man used his channel — which solicited donations from South Korean viewers under the guise of helping poor Filipino children — to exploit minors.
The YouTuber, linked to a channel accused of posting “poverty porn,” uploaded his final video on the day of his arrest, referencing the baby: “Born on April 24. My first baby.”
Crime Net, an online watchdog, said the channel documented the girl’s pregnancy, with viewers now calling the videos evidence of his crimes. Outrage erupted online, with comments like “Do not donate” and “I saw the devil.”
The Korean Embassy has yet to comment, as calls grow in both countries for stricter oversight of overseas online creators.
