SUNGAI PETANI — Police arrested the wife of a man shot dead in a gunfight with police in Bandar Puteri Jaya last night, seizing a pistol from their rented home nearby.
Kuala Muda police chief Asst Comm Hanyan Ramlan said the woman, in her 20s, was remanded for seven days until July 12 to assist investigations.
Her husband, 34, was killed in a shootout with police, believed to be a key member of a criminal gang linked to armed robberies, gangsterism, and drug trafficking since 2022, causing losses of nearly RM6 million.
The case is being investigated under Section 307 of the Penal Code for attempted murder.
