Elderly woman killed as car skids into drain in Jempol

SEREMBAN — An 83-year-old woman died after the car she was in skidded and crashed into a drain along Jalan Kampung Batu Bakar yesterday afternoon.

Jempol police chief Supt Norhisham Mustapar said the 3.15pm crash involved a Perodua Myvi driven by an 85-year-old man with two passengers.

The car, heading from Kampung Batu Bakar to Taman ACBE, Bahau, reportedly went out of control and veered off the road.

The woman, seated in the front passenger seat, suffered severe head injuries and died at the scene. The driver and a 41-year-old Indonesian woman in the back were sent to Kuala Pilah Hospital for treatment.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
