KUALA LUMPUR — Police arrested three Chinese women on Thursday for using counterfeit RM100 notes to pay a hotel bill of RM8,700.
Dang Wangi police chief ACP Sulizmie Affendy Sulaiman said the suspects, aged 18 to 47, used 87 fake RM100 notes.
Police seized the counterfeit notes, a RM50 and RM20 note, two Louis Vuitton bags, hotel access cards, and three iPhones during the arrest.
The case is being investigated under Section 498B of the Penal Code, and the suspects have been remanded until July 9.
The public is urged to stay alert for fake banknotes and report any to police or Bank Negara Malaysia.
