Donald Trump has threatened to sue The Wall Street Journal for publishing a story claiming he sent Jeffrey Epstein a raunchy 2003 birthday letter featuring a nude drawing and his signature.
Trump called the letter “fake” and “defamatory,” denying he wrote it or drew the figure. He said he plans to sue the WSJ, NewsCorp, and Rupert Murdoch over the report.
The story comes amid renewed scrutiny of Trump’s ties to Epstein, who died in prison in 2019 while awaiting sex trafficking charges. US authorities recently reiterated there’s no evidence Epstein was murdered or kept a secret client list.
Trump supporters and critics alike reacted strongly, with some calling for release of Epstein-related files and others slamming the WSJ for publishing unverified claims.
