The US has delayed delivery of Patriot missile systems to Switzerland as it shifts supply priorities to bolster Ukraine’s air defence, the Swiss defence ministry said Thursday.

Washington informed Bern that Switzerland’s 2022 order of five Patriot systems, originally due from 2025–2028, will be pushed back, though details on how many units and missiles are affected remain unclear.

Switzerland, which maintains military neutrality and won’t transfer weapons to Ukraine, said it is seeking clarification on the timeline and impact.

The US move aligns with its broader push to supply Kyiv, with several European nations also pledging to buy and send Patriots to Ukraine.
