A Bukit Aman traffic policeman was charged in the Kuching High Court today with the murder of a man shot dead in a car on Jalan Stephen Yong in April.
L/Cpl Genesis Nitchell David Reddy, 30, pleaded not guilty to the charge under Section 302 of the Penal Code, which carries the death penalty or up to 40 years’ jail and caning upon conviction.
The court fixed August 22, 2025, for case mention and ordered him remanded at Puncak Borneo Prison. The victim, Muhammad Zaki, was found dead with a gunshot wound to the head. Six suspects were arrested the same day and a loaded pistol was seized.
