Police have confirmed that a celebrity preacher accused by Nurul Izzah Anwar of molesting teenage boys under the guise of nasyid activities has been charged in court.
Bukit Aman’s D11 chief, SAC Siti Kamsiah Hassan, said eight reports were filed, involving victims aged 13 to 16 in Penang and Kedah. The cases, with charges filed in 2023, 2024, and this year, are ongoing in court.
Nurul Izzah alleged the preacher lured boys through nasyid music and pledged support for the victims after the preacher reportedly sued the victim’s family seeking a public apology.
