PERMATANG PAUH — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim hinted at a major initiative to ease Malaysians’ living costs, set to be announced early next week.
Speaking at a UiTM Penang event, Anwar said the Finance Ministry is finalising measures to help the public while balancing fiscal constraints, adding: “If not Monday, then Tuesday… pray for good news.”
He noted that ongoing commitments like Rahmah Cash Aid and public sector pay hikes already cost billions.
On July 14, Anwar teased the announcement on Facebook as “an extraordinary token of appreciation for the people,” sparking excitement among Malaysians.
