KULAI — The Johor government is drafting strategies to tackle rising food, transport, and housing costs, especially in Johor Bahru, amid rapid economic growth.

State executive councillor Lee Ting Han said discussions were held today on expanding public transport, easing financial burdens, and ensuring residents benefit from development.

He noted high rental rates and said the state will speed up affordable housing projects, raising its target from 30,000 to 100,000 units by 2030.

Initiatives to address these issues are expected to be announced in the Johor Budget 2026 this November.
