SINGAPORE — Singapore has raised concerns over cyberattacks on its critical infrastructure by UNC3886, an espionage group security experts link to China.

“This group poses a serious threat to national security, targeting vital infrastructure and strategic assets,” said National Security Minister K. Shanmugam, without disclosing specifics.

Cybersecurity firm Mandiant has described UNC3886 as a China-linked group behind attacks on defence, tech, and telecom sectors in Asia and the US. Beijing has denied involvement, insisting it opposes cyberattacks.

Singapore’s critical sectors include energy, water, healthcare, banking, transport, and communications. The warning follows reports of similar Chinese-linked campaigns against Taiwan’s semiconductor industry and analysts.
