The Kedah government is launching a RM20 million breakwater project in Tanjung Dawai to combat severe coastal erosion threatening homes in Kampung Huma.State official Datuk Mohamad Yusoff @ Munir Zakaria said the Drainage and Irrigation Department (DID) will call for tenders by month-end to build a 3km structure, following earlier smaller projects.Erosion has brought the shoreline dangerously close to homes that were once 2km inland, leaving several damaged and unsafe.
