Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil confirmed that the controversial website “Caghi,” accused of selling Malaysians’ personal data, was officially blocked in June 2022. However, a version of the site appears to still be active, prompting fresh concerns. Fahmi stated that the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) is working with service providers to investigate and identify the individual behind the site. The current status and authenticity of the leaked data remain unverified. The issue resurfaced after a viral Facebook post claimed the site exposed sensitive information including IC numbers, home addresses, phone numbers, vehicle registrations, banking details, and business records.
