SINGAPORE — Singapore’s pharmaceutical industry association is monitoring developments closely, it said yesterday in response to US plans to target the sector with a 100 per cent tariff from next month.

US President Donald Trump on Thursday announced 100 per cent duties on imports of branded drugs.

Semiconductors, consumer electronics and pharmaceutical goods, account for about 40 per cent of Singapore’s exports to the United States, according to Singapore’s central bank.
