Continuous downpours have caused rivers to breach their banks, inundating residential areas and destroying local infrastructure. The District Officer confirmed that rescue operations are underway, with several "hotspots" remaining inaccessible due to collapsed slopes and debris.

Evacuation centers have been set up to house the rising number of displaced families. While floodwaters in some parts of Johor are beginning to recede, the situation in East Malaysia remains critical, with Sabah and Sarawak bearing the brunt of the current monsoon surge.

The federal government has allocated emergency funds for disaster relief and is coordinating with the military to deliver food and medical supplies to isolated villages. Residents are being urged to remain vigilant and follow evacuation orders as more rain is forecasted for the coming week.
