A significant political debate has erupted in Putrajaya this morning following a formal proposal to limit the Prime Minister's tenure to a maximum of ten years or two full terms. The policy aims to align Malaysia with international democratic standards and encourage a "generational shift" in leadership.

Supporters of the bill argue that term limits will prevent the over-concentration of power and allow younger leaders within the various political coalitions to rise to the top. Critics, however, suggest that such a limit could lead to political instability during times of national crisis.

The proposal is expected to be tabled in Parliament later this month. If passed, it would represent one of the most significant constitutional reforms in Malaysia’s history, fundamentally changing the country's political landscape for future generations.
