The Sabah Aquatic Sports Association (Sasa) has deployed its biggest swimming squad to date—totaling 102 swimmers—for the 61st Malaysia Invitational Age Group Swimming Championships. The four-day competition begins today at the National Aquatic Centre in Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur. The massive delegation is part of a renewed effort to provide younger swimmers with high-level exposure and identify future elite talent for the state.
Led by head coach Elvin Chia, the team includes three junior coaches who are participating to gain experience alongside senior staff. Sasa president Daniel Lee emphasized that the goal is to groom a new generation of swimmers following a centralized training camp. Meanwhile, in football news, Sabah FC has bolstered its squad with the signing of French striker Chris Marlon Ondong Mba, who is expected to debut in the MFL Challenge Cup this weekend.
